Yumi Stynes had a rude awakening after leaving a ‘passive-aggressive’ note on the windshield of a car that had been parked in the same spot for days on end.

The TV and radio presenter, 46, who last week was called out for her own ‘selfish’ parking, revealed on Wednesday she had ‘written quite a few car notes in my time’.

Speaking on KIIS FM’s The 3pm Pick-Up, she recalled one awkward incident when she wrote a snarky note for a driver without realising they were actually ill in hospital.

Stynes began the story by telling her co-host Kate ‘Monty’ Dimond how, during Covid lockdowns, she had left a note on a car asking its driver: ‘Why are you parking [in this spot] for days on end?’

She said she needed the spot and left her number on the note, too.

When she eventually received a text-message reply, it was from the car owner’s friend telling Stynes the driver had ‘been in hospital for three months’.

‘Yeah, that’s why you don’t leave notes,’ said Dimond. ‘You never know the situation.’

The radio hosts were discussing passive-aggressive notes after Stynes revealed last Friday she had returned to her car to find an angry message on her windshield.

The hastily handwritten note read: ‘Even if I tried really, really hard, I don’t know if I could park as selfishly as you have. Please consider others when you park.’

Yumi shared a photo of the note on Instagram, and wrote: ‘WINNING AT LIFE TODAY.

‘As an enthusiastic note writer myself I was pleased to find this *STICKY TAPED* to my windshield this morning but I have thoughts.

‘Tell me how to improve? As feedback it’s too vague. Selfish how? Selfish why? Liked the flourish at the end. Next time more aggressive less passive please.’

In October last year, Stynes announced she had separated from her second husband, Martin Bendeler, after nine years of marriage.

The former Channel [V] host married Bendeler in 2012 and they share two children, daughter Mercy, seven, and a five-year-old son whose name has not been revealed but whom Stynes refers to as ‘Man Baby’.

She was previously married to musician Ben Ely, with whom she shares two older children, Anouk, 19, and Dee Dee, 17, from 2000 to 2008.
